Our 5th and 6th grade students presented a Thanksgiving Day skit on Friday, November 20th following morning assembly. The students enjoyed acting as pilgrims from the 1600s; performing in full costume with stage props. The skit was a great opportunity for them to practice public speaking in front of an audience other than their own peers. In addition to acting out the characters, the students spent weeks memorizing their own lines. With the whole lower school campus, parents, and guests in attendance; the skit was an overall success!
Student’s responses on the skit:
- “I learned about God’s provision and giving His people strength and will to gone on” – Avery
- “I thought that all the costumes and the performance went well” – Lauren
- “I learned that we should be grateful for all we have and take care of what we do have” – Riley
