On October 30th, students at Covenant Prep participated in a school-wide celebration of Reformation Day. This day is a special day for Covenant Prep students as we remember our early church fathers who sacrificially led us to our Protestant heritage. Upper School students led the celebration by researching the causes and effects of the Protestant Reformation; sharing information about individuals such as Martin Luther, Ulrich Zwingli, and John Calvin who played an important role in the Reformation.
These students then prepared a mini-lesson on their assigned topic and a hands-on activity to share with the Lower School students. For example, a group researched the Five Solas: Soli Deo Gloria, Sola Scriptura, Solus Christus, Sola Fide, and Sola Gratia. They explained each of these Solas using scripture and then asked Lower School students to draw a picture depicting what each of these Solas meant to them.
After the presentations were over, students enjoyed a time of fellowship together. This was a special time for both the faculty and the student body.
