Lower School students participated in Operation Christmas Child as their fall semester community service project.  The mission of Operation Christmas Child (a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse) is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Each student was asked to prayerfully pack a shoebox for a boy or girl between the ages of 2 and 14.  Commonly included items are school supplies, hygiene items, toys and hard candy.  Our students and families graciously responded by packing 67 shoeboxes that will be distributed by the ministry to children in need around the world.

Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” ~ Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)
