The Application Process
Steps to becoming a Covenant Prep Pioneer
1. GET INFO
In order to make the most of our educational partnership, we strongly encourage all families to read materials which will prepare you for the unique experience of attending a classical, Hybrid-Model School. Recommended readings:
- Character Driven College Preparation by Dr. John Turner, Jr. – available for $13 through NAUMS at 888.485.8525 or by emailing a completed Product Order Form to accounting@naums.net.
- An Introduction to Classical Education: A Guide for Parents by Christopher Perrin, M.Div., PH.D. – available through Amazon.com.
2. PRAY
Prayerfully consider your family’s needs for education and whether those needs would best be met by partnering with CPS. If, after the school meeting, you are still interested in CPS, then please carefully review the material about the school. If you have questions, then please contact us. We want to help you make the wisest decision possible for your children. If, after reviewing the school material and praying about your decision, you still want to proceed, please complete all of the forms enclosed.
3. APPLY
Complete an application form for each student. Contact us with any additional questions. We encourage both parents to read the recommended reading prior to the submission of an application. Completed applications will include:
- Application form
- School reference and records (students transferring in from another school or previously home-schooled)
- Application fee (per student)
4. INTERVIEW
School admission is a one-time process that is handled by the admissions committee. The purpose of this meeting is to make certain that all of your questions about CPS have been answered and to make certain that CPS is the appropriate school for your family. Your admission forms will be given to the Admissions Department, who will call you to arrange an interview. Both parents are encouraged to attend the interview with their potential student(s).
5. TESTING & EVALUATION
Placement testing may be required for admittance to CPS and is administered and evaluated prior to course registration. Testing is done so that we can more appropriately place students in each course and in order that each family might better determine the comparative relationship between the student and Covenant Prep’s level of course work. A per-student testing fee may be required at this time.
6. ACCEPTANCE & ENROLLMENT
Admission decision will be made and letters of acceptance provided within two weeks of receipt of the completed application packet and family interview. The Enrollment Agreement should be completed and returned, along with all applicable fees, to enroll your child(ren). Student handbook, book lists and uniform requirements will be provided.
